Recycling

The Highway Department offers free recycling for Newton County residents for the following items:

  • Electronics including computers, video devices, printers, cell phones, and other devices
  • Used oil including antifreeze and oil filters.
  • Appliances including washers, dryers, refrigerators, water heaters, and microwaves

If you have a question about recycling an item that is not on this list, please call our office.

Tire Drop-Off

The Highway Department accepts all tires with or without rims. Newton County Residents are limited to 25 tires per calendar year / per household. A Driver's License must be shown prior to disposal.

Other Recycling

The Newton County Highway Garage is host to other recycling events such as hazardous waste day and Ag plastic day. You can find more information about these events on Newton County's recycling page.
